Nastasia Ugo is a Toronto- and Brooklyn-based artist.
Nastasia grew up in Moscow, Russia.
Growing up, Nastasia was inspired by nature,
Russian Orthodox churches, icons, scientific illustration
and neo-spiritualist books she found on her parent’s
bookshelves. Nastasia’s work is about nature and human,
the space where the inside ends and the outside begins,
the inbetween real and the imaginary, the known
and a mystery. She is influenced by Hilma Af Klimt,
Rothko, Wolfgang Laib and Mestre Didi.
